Filename = PT Serial ####
Created = Saturday, January 18, 1997
This file adds additional modem port drivers to ProTERM which support larger
buffers and higher bps rates. These are EXPERIMENTAL drviers provided in
response to user requests. If you have problems with these drivers, remove
this file from the PT Resources folder and use the regular modem driver
instead. Because of their experimental nature, InTrec Software is unable
to provide technical support for these drivers.
When this file is installed (in the PT Resources folder), new modem port
drivers are available in the Configure command. These new drivers have names
of the form 'Modem Port (xxK+yyK)'. The outbut buffer is xx Kbytes and the
input buffer is yy Kbytes. In addition, new bps rates of 115200 and 230400
are added to the Speed menu.
The 115200 rate seems to work reasonably well on both Quadra and PowerPC
Macs. So far 230400 has not been tested successfully on any Mac platform.
Use of 115200 or 230400 on slow Macs results lots of garbage and little
readable text. These rates are too fast for all but the fastest Macs.
Neither 115200 or 230400 can be used on Macs with the serial IOP processor
(IIfx, Quadra 900, 950) or with NuBus serial cards.
